The film tells the story of the intertwined lives of four Iranian women in the summer of 1953, a catastrophic period in Iranian history, when a coup led by the Americans and supported by the British deposed the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh and restored the Shah to power. Within a few days, four women belonging to different classes of Iranian society are working together against the backdrop of political and social turmoil. Fakhri, a middle-aged woman trapped in a loveless marriage, has to deal with her feelings towards of an old flame. Zarin, a young prostitute trying to escape when it is tragically aware that it can no longer see the faces of men. Munis, a young woman with a political conscience, must resist the isolation that requires the traditionalist religious brother, while her friend Faezeh remains oblivious to the unrest in the streets and only dreams of marrying the brother of despotic Munis ...
