No one expected the collapse of the regime of Ben Ali in Tunisia. But now the spark could ignite the entire region and no Arab autocracy feels safe. Starting with Egypt, an authoritarian state with eighty million inhabitants, of which one third illiterate and many young people without a future, a hostage of the thirty-year regime of Mubarak. Everywhere in the automatic region are dynastic in check. Even in Saudi Arabia would shake the shock wave of the ancient monarchy.
